From Baracoa, you will get to the starting point: La Recontra on the Duaba River. Next, you will climb uphill on foot, surrounded by lush mountain vegetation, along the hillsides of the table mountain El Yunque and walk through its northern slopes. You will meet the inhabitants of abandoned mountain homesteads and descend to Cuba’s most watery river, the Toa, which you can float by boat up to its mighty river mouth leading into the sea.
